News & Press Releases - [Main Index] Anritsu Enhances Handheld Analyzers’ W-CDMA and HSDPA Measurement Capability 2009-11-25 - Field Engineers and Technicians Can Conduct W-CDMA and HSDPA Measurements Anywhere, Anytime with Enhanced MT8222A and MS272xB Series -Morgan Hill, CA – For immediate release – Anritsu Company introduces options for its BTS Master™ MT8222A and Spectrum Master™ MS272xB series that expand the analyzers’ measurement capability on W-CDMA and HSDPA signals. The new options complement the handheld analyzers’ existing measurement capability, and allow field engineers and technicians to conduct W-CDMA and HSDPA measurements faster and more efficiently during the installation and maintenance of wireless networks.
Click for high resolution image With the new options, the MT8222A and MS272xB can support HSPA+ 64 QAM modulation, and a 64 QAM constellation diagram can be displayed on the respective analyzer’s measurement screen. The new software also adds support for discontinuous transmission (DTX) and Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR). Over-the-Air (OTA) measurement capability has been enhanced with the new options, as well. OTA scanner measurements can be made twice as fast, and users experience improved Code Domain Power (CDP) measurement performance, due to lower EVM. Additionally, more active channels can be displayed. The new options complement the existing W-CDMA and HSDPA measurement capabilities of the MS272xB handheld spectrum analyzers and MT8222A base station analyzer. Both instruments can conduct all the major RF and demodulation measurements on W-CDMA and HSDPA OTA signals. Benchtop Performance in a Handheld Instrument The MS272xB series features the most advanced ultra-portable spectrum analyzers on the market. With sensitivity of ≤–153 dBm Displayed Average Noise Level Typical @ 1 GHz, the MS272xB series can measure very low level signals, a critical feature as the RF spectrum becomes more congested. The handheld spectrum analyzers also feature a wide dynamic range to measure very small signals, even in the presence of much larger signals. Three models are available in the MS272xB series. Leading the way is the MS2724B, which covers 9 kHz to 20 GHz. Other models include the MS2721B, with frequency coverage of 9 kHz to 7.1 GHz, and the MS2723B, which goes up to 13 GHz. The BTS Master MT8222A is an integrated multi-functional base station test tool that eliminates the need to carry and learn multiple test sets. The MT8222A measurement capabilities include spectrum analysis, precision return loss, VSWR, cable loss, distance-to-fault, two-port gain/loss, one-port and two-port magnitude and phase, interference analysis, spectrogram, RF and demodulation measurements. The software options are available for immediate delivery. Find out more about the MT8222A Find out more about the MS272XB
